Day 17 – Thursday, 10 April 2025
Educators: Mr Prakash & Miss Aneesa

Group Time
We started the day with our traditional group time, singing the ABC song, followed by playing a fun animal sounds guessing game. The children quickly identified the animals by sound, which challenged their listening, thinking, and language (EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcome 5.2).

Creative Play – Playdough Activity
Mr Prakash prepared vibrant, fresh playdough for a sensory creative experience. Children used fingers and tools to make animals, food, and other objects, building fine motor control, creativity, and initial mathematical awareness such as shape and size awareness (Berk & Meyers, 2023; EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcome 4.1).

Self-Help Skills
Independence was also built in children through the practice of self-help activities such as wiping noses, putting on shoes, washing hands, and cleaning up after play. These activities teach responsibility and self-care (Department of Education, 2022, Outcome 3.2).

Day 18 – Friday, 11 April 2025
Educators: Miss Rae, Miss Aneesa & Mr Prakash

Group Time
After morning tea, children were keen to gather for group time. We sung the ABC song and noted improved pronunciation and confidence. We also sang about emotions, recognizing feelings like "happy" and "sad" with facial expressions, developing emotional literacy and self-awareness (EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcomes 1.1 & 5.1).

Sports Session with Mr Joseph
Today's Easter sporting activity session was full of energy and excitement! Children participated in an egg-and-spoon race to enhance balance, coordination, and self-control. Parachute game encouraged teamwork, listening, and social connection. Physical movement encouraged gross motor and social-emotional development (Berk & Meyers, 2023; EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcome 3.2).

Emotion Activity
Children articulated feelings through art using colored pencils to depict feelings and matching them with words. The art activity facilitated emotional expression, vocabulary enrichment, and enhanced sensitivity to a range of feelings (Denham et al., 2012; EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcome 1.2).

Free Play
Children built with blocks and trampolined during free play. These helped foster physical coordination, problem-solving, and healthy peer relationships (EYLF V2.0, Learning Outcomes 3.2 & 4.3).
