Week III
Day 5 (27/02/2025)
The children engaged in meaningful education through interactive learning activities on 27th February 2025. Children started the session by exploring the ABCs using designed flashcards with food named pronouncation such as avocado and banana. Children strengthened their letter recognition skills and early literacy abilities through visual and auditory learning according to Fellowes & Oakley (2020). The ABC Song became more engaging for the group when Prakash took the lead in performance. Through music combined with visuals children learned to connect sounds to visual symbols and develop phonemic awareness while gaining self-assurance in letter understanding (McLachlan, Arrow, & Gilkison, 2021). The children engaged in peer relationships and educational interactions because of the happy environment that encouraged communication between children and educators.
As the day progressed the participants got the chance to join two stimulating hands-on learning activities. The first task conducted by Miss Tingli had students resolve problem scenarios by unwrapping plastic-wrapped fruits as they developed their fine motor abilities during "fruit and veggie rescue". The exercise allowed children to engage their senses with hands while developing necessary coordination skills which promote physical development in young children (Sheridan, Howard, & Aldridge, 2022). The children experienced orange stamping art where they focused on working with colors and creative expression of textures. Children participated in an activity which required them to dip half oranges into paint then create patterns on paper to refine their hand dexterity and artistic abilities (Isbell & Raines, 2019). The games fostered children's development of educational and sensory understanding through creative tasks which revealed that basic tasks can enhance multiple aspects of early growth. To further develop their knowledge of letters and vocabulary children can enjoy a matching game that requires real foods.

Day 6
The children of our program participated in engaging activities on 6th March 2025 which promoted their language abilities and their health knowledge alongside learning independence. The initial part of the day started with the Yarning Circle which followed guidance from Miss Anusha until all students successfully created letters using body movements during their song performance. The activity helped children develop literacy skills along with their gross motor skills according to Fellowes and Oakley (2020). A communal learning environment allowed children to improve their social abilities including listening attentively and waiting for their turn which form essential communication foundations (Arthur et al., 2018). The high energy level and positive atmosphere in the circle demonstrated why musical activities along with movement adds value to learning through enjoyable activities.
Mr. Prakash conducted a dental health activity by providing children with laminated mats as well as washable markers to demonstrate "tooth dirt." The activity enabled children to practice teeth brushing in a hands-on manner. The educational workshop combined didactic lessons about dental hygiene with interactive lessons that permitted children to discover wellbeing practices via playful activities. The counting system implemented during tooth brushing helped students develop important numeracy abilities in a meaningful way according to standards from 2009 (DEEWR, 2009). Childhood self-help capabilities received support from Miss Tingli as she instructed children about facial and hand cleanup using washcloths combined with mirrors after mealtime. The practical activity developed both independence and self-confidence and taught responsibility for hygiene needs which young learners require (Sheridan, Howard, & Aldridge, 2022). These interactions showed how teachers establish teaching environments which promote children's independence together with personal care abilities and overall wellness development. Our future instructional plan includes a musical handwashing activity to enhance the current learning focus on health-related behavior.
