Week IV
Day 7 – 7th March 2025
Mini Discoverers Room (Toddlers)
Over the day I provided assistance with hygiene activities while also conducting creative endeavors and physical development activities in the toddlers' room.
Sneezing Spray Experiment
Children learned about germ spread through sneezes by using spray bottles during a visual activity. Fostered by educators were proper ways to handle sneezing actions while teaching children about maintaining their personal health. The activities supported development of wellbeing responsibility which matched the EYLF Outcome 3.2 benchmarks.
Dot Painting
The act of using cotton buds to paint dots helped children improve their manual dexterity while they developed creative thinking and stayed focused on their task. Through this experience children exchanged their artistic ideas and described their artwork creations which supported EYLF Outcomes 4.1 and 5.1.
Mini Golf Session
Both hand-eye coordination and turn-taking skills received practice from children while they participated in an outdoor mini golf session. Gross motor skills plus social development received support through this activity that fulfilled EYLF Outcomes 1.4 and 3.2 requirements.
Reflection
Children experienced complete development thanks to interactive learning activities that took place on this day. Through my observations I recognized that teaching with specific intentions helps children master learning across different developmental fields.
Follow-up
The handwashing practice activity will serve as a follow-up for the hygiene project to educate children on healthy habits.

Day 8 – 12 March 2025
Mini Discoverers Room (Toddlers)
Today’s activity as options for children to explore communication, movement, and sensory play through structured and intentional activities.
Yarn Circle Time
Children sang the ABC song, days of the week song, and colour song, while also learning about the seasons. This encouraged children’s learning of early literacy and language through socialization and song (Department of Education, 2022; EYLF V2.0, Outcome 5.1 & 1.2).
Yoga Session
Children practiced balancing skills using beanbags and ribbons led by Mr. Mike and then played with hoops and games with a parachute. These activities develop gross motor skills, body awareness, and cooperation (DEEWR, 2009; EYLF Outcome 3.2 & 1.4).
Play Dough Making
Children combined various components, got them together, and crafted objects using playdough. The multisensory encounter was beneficial for creativity and fine motor abilities development and also accustomed children to shared learning (Beloglovsky & Daly, 2015; EYLF Outcome
Reflection
The children were happy and full of life throughout the day, displaying the ability to adhere to scheduling, work in classroom groups, and express themselves. The sessions contributed to self-reliance, collaboration, and sensory experiences in a playful fashion.
Follow-up
The upcoming learning experience will feature an introduction to water play, which will be facilitated.
