All about Me

I come from Syangja in Nepal where I bear the name Prakash Chapagain. The pursuit of fresh opportunities and new encounters led me to migrate to Sydney to study Early Childhood Education at the bachelor level. Since childhood I have dedicated myself to working with children and I eagerly want to learn directly through practical classroom experience about child development.
An enthusiastic member of the educational profession I focus on building interactive learning spaces that welcome all children to learn and grow through a holistic approach. The foundation of active learning and curiosity transforms children's mind as well as their emotional and social development and physical capacities through supportive collaborative participation.
The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) stands at the center of Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory which I implement in my teaching practice. I provide support to students that goes slightly beyond their current knowledge level to enable ongoing learning development. Scaffolding allows me to facilitate children in their inquiry-based learning while they acquire new skills using the help of their peers along with educators and the environment.
The children possess capabilities and show curiosity along with a natural motivation to learn. I aim to develop their capabilities while establishing a protection zone which enables them to feel securely confident when exploring and taking chances to form new thoughts.
