About This Portfolio:

The portfolio demonstrates my professional development process along with reflective thoughts and accomplishments from working at Mini Masterminds in Sydney Olympic Park. During my placement at Mini Masterminds I had several chances to participate in early education and childcare practices while observing and talking to staff members and children.

This document presents evidence from reflections and planning while including documentation and showing engagement activities with children families and colleagues. The sections in this work show my professional growth matching the requirements of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Graduate level) as well as the expectations from Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).

The children who play imaginatively with toy cars develop better abilities to solve problems and handle their spatial perception and social interaction skills. Through engaged social interaction children develop important learning skills that enhance their shared experience and guided interaction. (Vygotsky, 1978; EYLF V2.0, 2022)

The way we connect our senses to natural environments helps children develop complete mental as well as physical health. (EYLF V2.0, 2022)

Children develop their creativity and interpersonal skills while expressing themselves through collaborative drawing activities according to Malaguzzi (1998) and Department of Education (2022). Educators who join these learning sessions help students build learning connections while utilizing their scaffolded support. (Malaguzzi, 1998; Department of Education, 2022)

What is the purpose of this portfolio?

This portfolio records the educational development I experienced while working at Mini Masterminds within Sydney Olympic Park. The portfolio showcases my reflections along with observations and plans alongside evidence about how I satisfy early childhood educator professional standards.

What did you learn during your placement?

My education focused on developing my capabilities in child observation alongside intentional teaching and family work along with supporting children with different needs to create interactive learning spaces. I expanded my knowledge about the EYLF standards and NQS framework as well as advanced my skills in proven teaching approaches.

How did you contribute to the learning environment?

I assisted educators to create play areas as well as participated in meaningful interactions with children to plan and deliver small group learning activities while recording children's developmental progress.
